Moser only asked that those interested in making a donation to give it to another group in need. The thousands of homemade masks were all donated to those who needed them. The first six went in the garbage, but then I got the hang of how it fitted to a face.” ![]() “When I was learning to be a nurse in the ‘60s we all wore two-layer cotton masks and I thought I could sew that. “In the beginning, March 2020, you couldn’t buy a mask because they were saving them all for frontline workers - which they should - but you couldn’t find a mask anywhere,” she said.
